Hello to all once again from western TN. It has been hot and dry all summer long. So dry that we forgot to how to spell rain. Our coon season has finally came around once again and wouldn’t you know it hasn’t quit raining since opening day. We have managed to get a few great nights in the last few weeks between the showers. The ground being wet sure has improved the ability of the dogs to track. It is really helping the pups come along a lot better. Hope all of your new prospects are coming along well.

After the rain one night I was sitting listening to a good coon chase. I got to thinking about how another year has almost passed by. We had some good times this year, along with a few set backs but all and all the TWB&FA is as strong as I think it has ever been. The prizes and payouts are larger than ever. President Alan Kalal has really done a great job in carrying the Association to a new level. All the Directors are staying as busy as possible making sure all the hunts are going as smoothly as possible. As you can imagine and some know, it takes a lot of hard work to put on a A+ hunt. The Directors would like to thank all the host clubs and individuals for your hard work also. There are a lot of folks out there that put their heart and soul into a hunt to make sure everyone has a great time. Most of the time they are the ones behind the scenes that never got a ‘thank you’, but you are very appreciated.

The UKC World Hunt final was held in Stueben County, IN this month. In the final four, three were Treeing Walkers. The walkers were GrNiteCh Bellars Gabby handled by Bryan Whitted, NiteCh Bellars Janis Joplin handled by Marv Schmucker, and PR Rats Molly handled by Lee Lands. A very nice English dog, Dual Grand Rocky Run Bad News Bo handled by Terry Goforth, rounded out the cast. After the smoke cleared, Marv and Janis Joplin came out on top with a score of 800+. Second Place went to Lee and Molly went a score of 700+. Third Place went to Bryan and Gabby with a score of 550+. Fourth place went to Terry and Bo with a score of 475+. It was a exciting hunt as you can see the scores between first and second, and third and fourth were really close. In all the walkers placed in nine of the top twenty spots this year. Congratulations to all the winners this year in the World Hunt. In the Bench Show congratulations are in order for the Best of Breed Male than went to PR Red Eagle Coming 2 Your City handled by Liza Hunziker and to CCH GrCh Rowes Hill Top Little Tammy owned by Steve Randolf and Tricia Snedegar who won Overall Opposite Sex. Congratulations to all the winners in the 2007 World Bench Show.
